Et Tu, Congress? Complacency, Not Corruption Will Be the Death of the Republic

Let us dispense with the fiction of “gray area” and speak the plain truth. The right of the people to keep and bear arms is not a suggestion; it is the load-bearing pillar of a free Republic. This is not a debate. It is a diagnosis.
The Constitution is not silent on matters of the highest betrayal. It defines treason with surgical precision in Article III, Section 3:
“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.”
Federal statutes back this with penalties ranging from death, to lifelong imprisonment, to permanent disqualification from office. The bar was set high not to protect the guilty, but to ensure that when that sacred line is crossed, the judgment is final and beyond reproach.
With this definition as our standard, observe the actions of those in power. They hide behind the titles of “Senator” and “Representative” while levying a legislative war against the very people they swore an oath to serve. These are not public servants; they are subversives and oath breakers. More damningly, their agenda gives aid and comfort to the avowed enemies of this Republic. Gun control has long been a cornerstone of the Marxist agenda, a key tactic for those who wish to see America disarmed and overthrown from within. To champion this cause is to adhere to that enemy.
The question is no longer if these actions are fundamentally and functionally treasonous—it’s whether we still have the spine to treat betrayal as betrayal.
And yet, the problem festers because we do everything but prosecute. The Founders demanded deliberate justice, not to forestall it, but to make it absolute. But today, that virtue of restraint is becoming a vice. We are witnessing a ritual assassination of America’s Caesar. With every dagger thrust from a trusted hand, the dying Republic itself looks upon its betrayers and whispers, ‘Et tu?’
We will not wait for the bloody deed to be finished, only to eulogize what “was,” like Marc Antony before a fallen Caesar. Because there is no “was.”
The Constitution bleeds—not from one wound, but from a thousand cuts inflicted by pens wielded as daggers. Yet she still lives. Not as an artifact, but as a divine mandate, pulsing with power and promise. The daggers may be raised in the rotunda—but they have not yet struck the final blow. The Republic endures so long as We the People choose to enforce it with clarity, courage, and conviction.
Our demand for accountability is a peaceful one—an irony we lean fully into when discussing guns. But let us be clear: this is not the peace of the passive or the conquered. It is the disciplined peace of the prepared, which means acting with principle and resolve now—to prevent the catastrophe that would make violence inevitable.
If we wish to spare our children the generational suffering of life under tyranny, then these saboteurs must be held accountable. They must face not petty scorn, but the cold and unwavering resolve of a people who refuse to be enslaved. They must be made to fear the judgment of a righteous people now, for they will surely face the judgment of a righteous God later.
The National Firearms Coalition Today has no intention of merely functioning as another echo chamber for outrage. But rather a lightning rod for decisive action and enduring reform. We are not called to be passive inheritors of liberty, but faithful stewards of a sacred trust. Accountability is not something we ask for; it is a duty we are bound by God and conscience to exact. We don’t peddle platitudes; we publish blueprints. This isn’t an editorial that ends with “Call your Congressman.” We teach you how to make him listen. The Founders did not bequeath to us a brittle parchment to be admired under glass; they forged a weapon of peaceful, civic dominance. This publication exists to teach you how to wield it.
Mere performative outrage will avail us nothing. Awareness without enforcement is born of complacency and can only result in capitulation. To paraphrase Patrick Henry,
“The moment is one of liberty or slavery. Our chains are forged; their clanking may be heard in the halls of Congress.”
